Preparing a detailed brief for your painter is important to help you and your painter understand what it is you want to achieve, and to ensure that all ideas and expectations are tabled before any work begins.
Our painting specification checklist has been designed so that your painting contractors can prepare an accurate quote, enable you to compare quotes easily and have a record for the future if any problems should arise.
Here are the key things you will need to include in your brief:
General

Surfaces to be painted:
Specify the material of each interior and exterior surface (brick, wood, plaster, metal, cement, render, etc) and whether they are new or previously painted. The material and condition of the surface will impact the level of preparation required, the sealing process required, and number of finishing coats needed.

Preparation Required

The best method of application will depend on the type of finish being applied, the desired results, the type of surface and your budget.
